Metal, paper, acrylic sheet, LED

Fall 2022

With this project I walked the fine line between furniture and sculpture, creating something that floats between distinctions.

More than anything this work was about pushing myself to create something otherworldly, representative of my aesthetic and way of thinking. It is a piece I believe can live anywhere because it holds a life within it and has a personality of its own, the piece only reflects and contrasts its environment. Additionally this being my largest and most laborious project to date brings another layer of personal meaning to this piece.

This project has been an important practice in actualizing the ideas I have, as I believe you can only sketch and prototype so much. As an artist and designer, experiencing your work in real life is essential to finding further inspiration and interacting with the ideas you believe to be important enough to release.
